A place for God’s precious children to see His Love in action.

Our goal is to provide a safe and welcoming place for God’s precious children.   Here they learn where Jesus’ love is expressed in the hugs and smiles of the nursery caregivers.

Here is love in action!

The nursery area is located down the hall off the commons and past the chapel.  As you enter, you will find a facility built with your children in mind.  The infant nursery, designed for newborns through 12 months, is located to the right of the sign-in area.  It is equipped with swings, a bassinet, glider rocker and a changing area.

The toddler nursery, designed for children 1 year through 3 years of age, is located to the left of the sign-in area.  This area offers a toddler size kitchen and play area for blocks and cars.  There is also a drinking fountain and toddler size bathroom.

New to the check-in procedure is a three part nametag to fill out.  One part contains the name and other pertinent information to help us provide care for your child.  Diaper bags are labeled with the second part.  The third part is your copy; it is numbered and must be presented when you pick up your child.

One of the ways we can communicate God’s love to our children is by providing a SAFE and LOVING environment for them while they are in our nursery.  In order to do this effectively, we have established the following guidelines:

  • The nursery caregivers are paid staff as well as trained volunteers.  They wear name tags for easy identification.

  • The nursery is for the use of children age 3 and under.

  • Each child is checked in by a PARENT with a nursery caregiver when brought to the church nursery. Parents fill out a three part nametag.

  • The parent or authorized adult must be on church premises while the child is in our nursery (e.g. worship, teaching Sunday school, adult education, etc.)

  • Please provide us with the necessary items to care for your child (diapers, bottles, pacifier, etc.)  All items must be labeled with the child’s name.

  • Please do not bring a sick child to the nursery.

  • Please pick up your child immediately following the service or activity in which you are involved.

  • To avoid crowded conditions, we suggest only one parent bring or pick up the child

  • Take time to talk with the nursery caregivers and share any care information with them.

  • Enjoy your time and be assured your child is in good care.  If you are needed by your child, we will locate you.

Safety

We strive to provide a safe and sanitary environment for our nursery children.

We ask that any toys donated to the nursery be approved by the nursery coordinator. Each week all toys and equipment are sanitized with antiseptic solution.

Behavior Policy

Upon prolonged aggressive behavior from a child, we will contact the parents to discuss the behavior. Ideally a solution can be found that will benefit both the child and the nursery.

There is additional information available at the nursery sign-in area.

If you have any questions or concerns about our nursery, please contact: Cheryl Griess at cheryl@rejoiceomaha.org or at 334-1999.
